Lars Bertelsen

 

Lars is an independent freelance photojournalist and photographer who shoots pictures on order and subsequently delivers images in the genres of portrait, reportage and illustration. People in the photograph is Lars’  core competence, passion and strength.

All companies and organizations need photographs and photojournalism in their internal and external communication. Photographer and photojournalist Lars Bertelsen can engage in dialogue with customers in relation to the solution of each task and also in coaching in relation to the use of images in publications of clients.
Lars provides photos, sound and moving images on the newest media platforms on the internet and in print. Available services:
• Solving photographic tasks
• Development of ideas of photojournalistic products containing text and photos for print media, photos and audio, or photos, sound and moving images to the internet media
• Teaching in photojournalism at university level
• Coaching and providing guidance as picture editor

Photographer and photojournalist Lars Bertelsen graduated as a photojournalist from The Danish School of Journalism in 1997. He has worked as a photographer, photojournalist and teacher in Denmark since then. He has been employed as staff photographer at the Danish broadsheet newspaper Morgenavisen Jyllands Posten and at the Danish news magazine The Engineer.
Lars has traveled in many countries on assignment for various organizations and on his own initiative, and he has photographed people of all social classes all over the world.

During several years Lars has been an external lecturer at The Danish School of Media and Journalism – DMJX. Head of the department for photojournalism at DMJX Søren Pagter writes about Lars Bertelsen:
“For more than ten years Lars Bertelsen has been a one of the guest lecturers at the world famous Photojournalism Programme at the Danish School of Media and Journalism. He has been teaching in several topics like photoshopping, personal reportage and magazine story telling. Every time with a great impact on the students. I can highly recommend working with Lars Bertelsen.”

Lars received in 1999 first price in the Danish Press Photo of the Year competition with the image of a young man getting drafted to become a soldier – see the photo and many others in the Reportage section.
Lars Bertelsen is a member of BAM, which is an association of 61 of Denmark’s best reportage, portrait and art photographers

Lars Bertelsen live in Dragør, is married and has two beautiful children adopted from Bolivia.
